ABOUT IOHM

The discoveries made by the German physician Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in the closing years of the 18th century and through the first half of the 19th century, and his many able successors, established, through repeated demonstration, that the maintenance of health, and its restoration when lost, rests on observing certain laws of nature.

The more obvious of these laws are, apparently, known, viz, nutrition, clean air and water, freedom from insecure social conditions, quality of housing, sanitation......

Yet far too often official policy condones profit at the expense of people's health - two everyday examples are school dinners (e.g. in Britain) and the alarming depletion of farm earth over the past 50 years. There are many more examples, which any of us can point to, and their existence illustrates how humans still have not made the necessary basic connection between all that is in our environment and all that we enjoy in health or suffer in disease.

The science of homoeopathy has much to offer - because it treats disturbed life force.

Because of its subtle technology of dynamic substances, applied lawfully in each individual case of sickness, homoeopathic medicine curatively influences health disturbances not only at the physical level of the organism but the emotions and the functions of the mind, too.

There is a definite pattern to cure, known to homoeopaths as "the law of cure". Once understood, this therapeutic law can be applied to any therapy.

Much that is thought to be puzzling, or tragic, in people's struggle for health can be explained through this therapeutic law of cure.

Untold sums of money are spent on researching and developing drugs to "fight" disease. Yet it is already obvious that such effort is exploiting a wasting asset - the human immune system. For 3,000 years China fed its large population from the same soil carefully renewed according to the laws of husbandry.

The health of China's soil was maintained for a very long period of time through observing what was good for it. Soil can be maintained in a good state of health, and even improved on - or denatured and the food from it denatured at source and in the food factory. Soil is a living, dynamic phenomenon - keeping it that way underpins health.

The soil of our physiology, emotions and thinking processes is just as susceptible to good management or to careless destruction. One powerful route to understanding the true dynamic nature of health and disease is homoeopathy. Through its unique perspective on health and disease, and through its unique pharmacy and discovery of three essential therapeutic laws, homoeopathy has a great deal to offer to those willing to make use of it.
